In search for of Follies
It’s been a while since I’ve been anywhere. Covid. And my place of choice, Follies, closed. So when, in the midst of reading some reviews, I saw a reference to Follies day shift being here, I decided to visit, to see for myself.
Area is interesting. Industrial. And parking was free at the time I arrived. $10 to get in. Then a walk, through the upstairs area and down some stairs that needed light to not be dangerous, especially with eyes yet to adjust to the darkness. Really should have used phone flashlight. No Follies chairs along the wall but a series of couch seating areas everywhere. None much more private than any others. And big screen TVs along one wall means it was quite bright inside.
Enough dancers. Black. White. Cubans. Ok enough, I suppose. And I was told there were VIP areas at either end, behind some black curtains, where dances were $20. Twice the usual $10. Plus a $60 fee to the DJ. Was also hinted that Folly-esque VIP practices may also be available. YMMV, I suppose.
