Definitely Didn’t Visit at the Right Time

I’ve been to strip clubs all over North America but I’m on my very first foray into the wilds of East St. Louis. Trying to see a handful of clubs and give a report on each.

Visited Cheeks Wednesday, 5:15-6:00 pm. Free parking in a fenced-in, gravel lot, no cover. They were out of bottled water (my usual), and a small coke was $5.00 with tip. Alcohol is available, but I don’t drink. No COVID procedures in place.

I hadn’t really planned to visit this place, but out of the handful of clubs in this neighborhood at 5:00-ish on a Wednesday, Cheeks was the only one that had more than one car in the parking lot. There were about five customers, four white dancers (one of whom was on her way out when I got there) and one black dancer who came in just before I left. It’s a large club with a stage and plenty of seating, but no one was dancing at this time. People were pretty much just sitting around at the large, rectangular bar.
