Surprisingly busy Wednesday night, with some new hires
Inspired by some recent awesome South Dade reviews, wanted to take a visit to Showgirls to see how it's going. The place hasn't changed much, bar on the left with mirror on the wall, single stage on the right with two poles. Bar also has a pole, but the bartop dancing seems like it's now extinct as the only casualty of the pandemic on this particular club with no masks to be seen. Maybe it's still going strong on busier nights, but for a mid-week experience it seemed pretty active. If it IS gone, I think it's a sad loss: since it was usually the 3rd dance in rotation it's even closer to the talent than Pervert's Row and easy to get first crack at a post tip-walk private dance.
So it seemed pretty active for a Wednesday night. There were a ton of women there, but so many were just congregated on the "bullpen" table. I answered above with a rough count of how many women were there, but "if a tree falls in the forest" applies here. If dancers are sitting down and tapping on their phones, are they really even there? Management is happy to leave it alone, but this kind of thing really drags down the atmosphere when people are there for a good time but there's a black cloud over the phone zombies. While there was maybe 15-18 women around, only half of that were on stage rotation and mingling with the patrons. It's always been this way.
Worth bringing up briefly is that the stage was pretty grungy. As a proper deviant, I won't like my nudie bars too clean. But there are some mirrors along the bottom foot of the wall behind the stage that were all filthy. Like splattered with spilled drinks or dirty mop water or something. Not a great backdrop to a floor-bound gynecological exam, I hope they get around to just giving them a once over or just take it down and upholster it to match the rest of the stage.
