The Golden Dragon is an amazing place. I’ve visited Portalnd many times, and try to hit up the Dragon every time I'm in town. There’s no booze, it’s essentially a juice bar, but this means that girls who are just 18 can dance. And they do! It also means that the clientele skews younger, like, way younger. But for someone not that young (like me, for instance), this can actually have advantages. Look at it like this. You’re a 19-year-old dancer, and you want to maximize your earning potential. Are you going to hit up the 18-year-old guys, or the guys who actually look like they have money? Especially if you have daddy issues.

We rolled in a little after 2:30 am, and paid the $20 cover. There were probably about 20 girls working. The main room sports a huge mainstage, and usually there’s two girls dancing at any given time. Between the stage and the VIP rooms, there are three mini-stages, with poles that don’t go all the way to the ceiling. I don’t think there’s any schedule on these--a girl can just hop up and try to draw a crowd.
