First time out in over a year, and dancer got straight to the point

I moved to LA (Downtown) during the pandemic, and after months (wait, a year?) of no clubbing, finally had the night to myself and decided to venture out. Now keep in mind, I know basically nothing about the scene down here, and while it seems like most people recommend heading to COI or TJ, I wasn't ready to put in the commitment to venture out that far while it seems like most of the clubs out here are still ramping up from covid.

I started the night at Sam's Hofbrau, and while everyone else there was having a great time, it's obviously not the place to go alone. I checked Google Maps and saw the Rhino was just a few minutes walk away, so I finished my (one) drink decided to head over.

The cover was $21. Yes, $21. That came with a coupon for a free (non alcoholic) drink. I grabbed a coke from the "bar" and headed to the stage.
