First time back after pandemic, same papermoon, good and bad
I have been to papermoon more than any other club in this area. It has a lot of good things going for it, but It has one very bad thing going for it, and its probably the most important to most and that's the cost. Seems like post pandemic, they have a few more wrinkles to take all your money.
I showed up around 11p. For those who are new to papermoon, it has a great location, very safe area with plenty of parking. Easy to roll up to and get on in. This night, the cover was $20 and you had to do a deposit of $200 just to enter. You can avoid the deposit if you sign up for vip, but that cost $250 and comes with a bottle of champagne. The deposit can be used on dances in the club (not food or drink) and you cannot have it back the end of the night if you don't use it. I hadn't been in a while and was knew I was getting some dances so no worries for me on this time. But this will absolutely be a show stopper for me to stop by in the future. I did talk to the bouncer and if you come early you don't have to do the deposit (whatever early means).
Once in, its the same club its always been. Music is very loud (too loud for me). There are two stages, one at the far side and one in the middle towards where you enter. The far side being the bigger main stage. There is a bar to the left when you enter. I went to grab a drink and take a lay of the land. I usually sit at the bar when I am here, as the girls seem to roam over there. I noticed some changes, the far booths are now "vip", even though before they were always just regular seating. Also the tables closest to the stage have "reserved" signs on them, not sure what that means. This is a pasties club for those who don't know and have never been to Virginia, but that's not a huge deal to me, I'm more a lap dance guy.
