Stopped at around 10PM last Friday night to do a wellness check on one of my favorite old haunts and I'm happy to say that the Penn's Port Pub has survived these trying times well. If you haven't been there before, you should know that it is as advertised - a classic Philly go-go bar - with an unpretentious and welcoming vibe. The dancers are consistently cute, perky and as friendly as you like. (No harpies out to get you!) It was also ‘hopping’ on this visit in a classic Pennsport Pub way with folks coming and going over the 2 hours I was there, but always with the bar at about two-thirds capacity including a good woman's representation in the clientele which I always consider a good indicator for a strip club. ‘Couples friendly’ as they say.
Unfortunately the kitchen is down these days but will be back soon I’m told. The website is also partially down (normally lists the dancers and their shifts so you can catch your favorites) but there were three fun and delicious ladies on stage this night. (For the uninitiated, the girls walk on around on the bar after their sets so you can get a friendly close-up gander. There are also a limited number of bar seats about 6 inches from the stage for a special continuous very in-depth experience!)
