Rough neighborhood but a good value for what it is
First of all let me be clear that Columbus GA does not have a lot of options when it comes to strip clubs. After searching extensively and asking around THE ONLY two places that I found happened to be right next door to each other. My first night in was at the other club, which I’ll review separately, before walking into the Carousel before being told that they were closed. This review is regarding my return trip on a Tuesday night, when I took 3 coworkers there (we were in town for a job).
Setting the scene, we were 4 white guys and this club had a very much an African American spot. There were popup tents with grills outside serving bbq and hotdogs. The food did smell incredible. We paid the cover ($10 each) and went to the bar for beers and to get some ones. Beers were about $4 a piece, so we tipped the older Asian women at the bar and turned around to experience the club. Its shape was odd, basically being a long rectangle with the bar and stage on the same long wall, with the opposite wall basically empty except for a couple of high top tables with chairs. Piles of $1 bills were all around the outside edge of the stage because basically the girls just swept their money into whichever spot was theirs then walked around to get their hustle going. On the other side of the stage from the bar there was also a seating area, but the whole atmosphere was just chaos. No structure to how much for a dance, no private, basically it was just girls going to where ever you were and shaking it until you showered them with singles, then they would try to draw you to a chair so they could dance for more singles. Every dancer was black. Some were incredibly friendly and did nice dances, but a couple were standoffish and robotic. I spent $60 on a really pretty girl (forget her name) for her to dance and it lasted 3 songs, but it was good so I gave her another $120 to dance with 2 of my friends. I can’t say whether I would truly recommend or not. It’s in a rough neighborhood but we didn’t feel unsafe. There was plenty of security and the other patrons were friendly. I think a bunch of white dudes at this place was a novelty to them. Outside of cover ($10), beers ($4 each), and a ton of ones, it could be a pretty chill spot that wouldn’t break the bank. I’m just used to a little more structure so it took me a bit to figure out it was a pure “make it rain” kind of club.
