This is one of my favorite clubs to stop by when I visit New York. Flash Dancers (owned by the same company) has a livelier stage and overall prettier dancers, but I find Private Eyes to be more personable. It’s easier to strike up a conversation and actually get to know the girl before taking the plunge for a dance (and once I get started, it’s hard to stop until the money I’ve budgeted for the night is gone).

On this visit, I arrived on a Thursday evening about 10:30 p.m. According to the sign on the door, admission is $15 after 8:00 p.m. I was also told I would need to buy a drink. Heinekens are $10. Don’t know what they charge for domestic beer.

I mostly hung out with Jane, who is from Belarus, which used to be part of the Soviet Union. A fairly large percentage of the dancers are from Russia or Eastern Europe. They tend to give relatively good mileage, though the mileage overall at this club isn’t much better than it is at Flash Dancers. In other words, not great -- just good enough.
