Early birdie

I was really early for a golf outing at a nearby course, and thought, “what the hell, go to Bogarts and see what’s up?” As I pulled into the lot, I saw several cars, then I looked at the clock: 11:18 AM. Am I that depraved that I’m making a morning stop at Bogies? Have I hit bottom?

Only one way to find out, so I go in. I remember reading on TUSCL that Bogarts was opening early during the Covid era, but when I went in, I found I was the only customer. Weird. They didn’t charge me cover (normally $5 for the reviewers). I didn’t want alcohol at that hour, so I ordered a bottled water. Waitress said “that will be $10, but a soda would be $6.50. So I saved a few bucks, and tipped the waitress for her tip.

Maybe two dancers were there at the time, none on stage. They and a couple of waitresses were sitting at a table by the waitress station, and I took a spot near the entrance to VIP. I recognized one of them, the large-breasted daughter of the mother-daughter combo that has been at Bogies over the years. She came over and we caught up. Since now time was of the essence for my golf outing, I took the daughter upstairs to VIP, after she checked if it wasn’t too early. The old manager guy came over and gave me the wrist band for $10, and off we went upstairs. Once upstairs, the daughter quoted me a inflated price compared to pre-Covid visits, but manageable. Had sufficient fun, and headed out the door. My watch said it was 11:48.
