This was the first time I had gone to Ruby’s II in at least 6 or 7 years. I parked in the lot across the street - this lot is owned by the club and there is a club employee who is on duty in the lot. He told me which door to use to get in and told me that there was only one bartender working, so there may be a slowdown in service. I tipped him a couple of dollars, crossed the street and went in at around 3:15 PM.

When I entered the club, my eyes had to adjust to the low lighting levels (it was a bright sunny day outside). There was no one checking the entry and no cover charge. The club does not serve alcohol, but will allow BYOB, with the customer giveng the bottle o the bartender who will then pour it out for you. This was not important to me, as I don’t typically drink alcohol anyway. I ordered a water (I think it was 4 or 5 dollars). In the 90 minutes I was there, I was not pressured to buy an additional drink.

Just a few words about the club layout. You walk in to the bar area, which looks like your typical neighborhood bar. Behind a half wall, there is another large room where there are two stages, though only one was being used. You can sit at the stage, but you can also sit at the bar and have a view of the stage, and tip the dancers as well, if you are so inclined (the stage is right next to the bar, on top of the half wall that divides the bar from the other room). There is a pool table, which was being used by one of the patrons. The lap dance area is behind the second room and up a couple of steps (more on that in a little bit).
