Cricket Dayshift
I stopped into the Cricket after a couple of years. It was my regular spot when I was younger; better than Bogarts or Henry’s, but not as upscale or expensive as Flight Club. It was a Monday around 3:30 and a bank holiday so I hoped that it would be busy with a good mix of women working. I parked in the fenced off lot (no valet) and made my way in. There’s no cover for days unless you want a booth, which I didn’t. I took a seat at the table and ordered a diet coke ($7). The waitress was an okay looking AA girl and the bartender was an older, blonde white woman.
The interior of the club hasn’t changed, with the possible exception of more TV screens around the stage. The stage is still located in the center of the club stretching from front-to back with poles at each end. Lasers, strobes, colored lights, and a fog machine were always in use as the girls danced…when there was a girl dancing. No one was smoking, although the fog machine stunk at times. I didn’t make my way to the men’s room this time, but in the past it had always been kept up, clean, and no attendant.
My hopes of it being busy were dashed with less than a dozen customers, and about 8 girls. The patrons were a mix of black and white, and all appeared older and blue-collar with most in t-shirts and shorts. The girls were a mixed bag as well. There was:
Bambi-4 (AA girl, long hair, decent body)
