Like a Mausoleum

This was a truly head-scratching experience. I’d last been to this spot at least 7 or 8 years ago, when it had the whole Caesar’s Palace Vibe going. I cannot imagine how much they spent remodeling this place…. But it would do nicely as a regular nightclub in Scottsdale. - I dig the vibe. There was no cover on a Friday afternoon (though the girl at the door told me if I wanted lunch she’d charge me a cover - she might have said $7). The place was incredibly empty .. a couple of PLs, and literally zero dancers. I sat down fairly near to the hoop on the stage, which was a decent walk from the main bar, which was the only one open. Eventually a small, pretty attractive waitress came over to take my order. Pretty ridiculous that I spent $22 for a double vodka, that costs much less at Bourbon or HiLiter, where there is often standing-room only on a Friday afternoon. It turns out that my “waitress” was the bartender, and sh’d have to come out from behind the bar and make the long walk to take my order, and then walk back, make the drink, and then return to me. Eventually a couple of dancers came in… one was a young, slender, quite attractive brunette. I saw an older, taller, been around the block gal, and one quite thick Latina. Literally, at one point the bartender (Kat or Cat) got up on stage and did one dance - which was unusual. I got no dances, and bought two doubles before I left. The bartender told me to come back on a Thursday afternoon - which she said was their busy “day crowd.” Not much more to say, other than a roomy, modern, clean bathroom (with TVs over the urinals) was a welcome change. I also saw pool-tables and darts. For the amount of money they spent on this remodel, I’d pay the girls $500 a day for a few weeks, get the crowd in, and then go back to a normal business model. Otherwise, the beautiful ship will sink. But whose to say - maybe it will just grow naturally.
