They Paved the Lot

The first thing I noticed when pulling up on a late Saturday afternoon was that they re-did the parking lot. I was shocked. The Lamplighter is part of a run down strip mall on the north side of St. Paul. I’m amazed that they sunk some money into the lot but it was nice to see a bit of upkeep in this neighborhood. It’s not exactly a high end part of the Twin Cities but it’s fine in the afternoon. I think it’s been at least a few years since anyone has been murdered at that strip mall although I think there was a car accident outside while I was in the club.

It was my first trip back to the Lamp in a few years. I didn’t see any familiar dancer faces from the club among the four that were working but a number of the old BJs girls are working there now and the club has a similar vibe to the old BJs so that makes sense.

They scanned my DL when I got there and there is a metal detector at the door. Cover is $5 after 9 pm. No day time cover charge. Once inside, there is a full bar with reasonable drink prices. The beer I had was $5.50 but they often have specials.
