Incident and Temporary Closure
I popped in late Saturday night (5/29) for a nightcap. The place was pretty full, with nearly all of the bar and stage/floor seating occupied; several patrons were standing, posted up against the wall. Upon entering, there is a small-ish bar on the left-hand side of the club and a fairly spacious area to the right with multiple small stages. There is a separate, dark area in back with high-backed chairs or pods that are used for VIP dances. The overall crowd skewed younger and more urban, but all races and ages were represented. The vibe was quite festive until the party came to an abrupt end when gunshots were fired.
Up until the unfortunate incident, there was a good crew of dancers working. About 20-25 names were written on the board, and I was able to spot about ten or twelve out on the floor at any given time. Probably half or more were AA, followed by a number of white women, and two or three hispanic--including one that I thought was cute as a button, though I didn't get her name. Dancers for the most part were approachable and friendly, although a few ladies seemed to spend most of their time either in the dressing room or smoking out front.
Drink pricing was comprable to Thorobred's and much cheaper than Blue Diamond down the street. Most beers and sodas ran $3-7 and drinks for the ladies were either $22 or $24. Though I did not partake, dances were $20 per song with VIP time starting at $160.
