Enjoyed the Lei, but not getting lei’d

After a year of what can be a break from mongering I had went with going to the Tropical Lei for my first go around in a long time. Rolling up on to the Lei the parking lot in front of the entrance was full of vehicles. Not many spots to park, but adjacent there was a parking lot as well as they have a sign set up to let you know that the club parking was also available. On my way to the front door you could hear the music coming out of the walls and when I reached the entrance I was greeted by the door man with the standard before entering: empty pockets, get a quick pat down, then go and pay your cover charge. You enter the main floor by pushing open some black curtains, immediately you notice the center stage as you walk in. The club is the usual dark and dive bar type look with mostly red lights being cast towards the center stage. To your immediate left there is the bar/ DJ booth; scattered through where tables and chairs to sit in, with the heavy concentration of chairs and tables around the center stage. Looking at the bar to the right, and across from center stage, where the restrooms and behind that is the area for full nude dances. To the left was the entrance to the VIP lounge area as well as the topless dance area, which is on full display if you go for the topless dance option.

I took my seat a bit away from the center stage and closer to where to topless dances take place. Once I was seated I was approached by the bar maid for my drink order as it is a one drink minimum. I asked for some bottled water and some change so that I can approach the tip bar later in the evening. As I observed the scene I noticed a nice mix of girls. AA, white, hispanic, skinny, thick, girls most looking decent. One in particular had a butterface that made go no thanks. Nothing knock out but a few caught my attention that I would get dances from. One dancer had a Vampirella look to her, face, body, and outfit, oh boy! Another was a nice thick white girl that I determined to get a dance with at first but another PL took her to VIP when I got in. On the floor there was about 6 girls with more in the VIP as they came out as the evening progressed. The DJ spouted their usual spiel, calling up girls to do their set and giving us the info for the dance prices. I swear it’s like the DJ works at all the clubs I’ve gone to as they almost always sound the same, voice, tone, etc. A few girls came up to be asking for a dance but not many stayed to do some kind of small talk, though the few that stayed I politely declined a dance as they where not my type, and a few that I got dances from I said to hit me up later as I was just settling in.

How much from what I spent was the breakdown cost at my visit here. First off the Cover is a flat $15 that the door man collects from you. They will inform you that it is a 1 drink minimum and that the drinks are $6. Drink variety is bottled water, mini can rockstar, coffee, and soft drinks. The drink hustle is strong here at this club, whenever a dancer is sitting down with a patron, the waitress would always go and ask “Would you like to buy the lady a drink?” I took one for the team and said that I would for one of the ladies that sat and chatted with me to see if they would up charge from the standard drink cost, it is not as the drink was still $6. They also come and ask if you would like a drink whenever you don’t show a drink on your table. The dance or VIP prices are not displayed anywhere but the DJ gives you a breakdown every so often of the dance prices, not so much the cost of VIP, just saying that it is a 3 Dance minimum. So costs went like this $20 for a topless dance, $40 for full nude. VIP was probably $120 as they are full nude. Throughout my time here not once was a 2 for 1 dance special was announced. I tried getting concrete VIP prices from some of the dancers I got dances from. They all said that we can do whatever we want, wink* wink*. With one saying that I can VIP with her for $300. I declined as my initial trips to any new club I go to is to test drive the regular dances and if they are worthwhile on subsequent trips I would budget for 2 or 3 VIPs. Bang for your buck is dependent on what dancer you get. Some girls would start your dance at the next song and some would start as soon as you get on the couch.
