First visit after 18 months, same as always
I found myself with a bit of time to kill, and I'm now fully vaccinated, so it was time to visit Playhouse again for the first time in a year and a half. I arrived around 12:30 to a parking lot with less than 10 cars in it. Walking through the door, there was an immediate adjustment necessary to shift from sunlight to darkness. I was not stopped for a temp check, sign in, cover charge, or pat down at the door. There are yellow one-way arrows on the floor directing you to turn right and orbit the bar counter-clockwise. Being a rule-follower, I complied.
There were roughly a half dozen other patrons sitting around the bar. The barstools were spaced out much more than in the past. I made my way to the left side (going around 3 sides of the bar to the side with the bathrooms and dressing room) and sat down. The barmaid asked what I wanted, and I asked for water. I gave her a $20 and got a wad of ones back, but didn't count them. For my money, I got two bottles (which as veterans of PH knows, handles the daytime cover).
I was immediately approached by a very fit, older woman with dark hair, bolt-ons, and an accent. She did not offer her name, nor did I ask, but from other descriptions, I am pretty certain it was Cayenne. She offered a dance, and being on a schedule, I agreed right away. Then I remembered I had a wad of singles in my car, so I ran out to grab those while she waited. When I came back, one of the water bottles was gone, but that's fine, I didn't plan on staying long enough to pound two bottles. I actually ended up taking my unopened bottle home with me.
