Supply and Demand in Time of the Pandemic
Been a bit since my last visit, so after being double-vaxxed, I thought I would stop in on Friday afternoon. They charge a $10 cover charge after 6 p.m. on Friday/Saturday evenings. I brought my facemask and figured that we would be asked to "mask up" unless we were drinking.
Upon arrival the parking lot and adjacent spaces were full before 4:30 p.m. Unusual before the pandemic, and shocked to see it this way during the pandemic. I was wanded for unwanted weaponry by the bouncers, who were also scanning I.D. cards and/or Drivers Licenses. There was a steady stream of working class guys coming through with 50% or more appearing to be Latino. I soon found out that area clubs in Melrose Park had been closed and those dancers were looking for a place to work and came to All-Stars. Their "fans and followers" came there to see their familiar faces and "T&A."
Beer prices had not changed and Lap Dances could still be had for $10. If you want a bikini/lingerie dance in the not-so-private "Man Cave"-- expect to pay $15 per song to see tits. The bartenders and waitresses were busy getting drinks for guys at the tables. The bouncers tell me that it has been "standing room only" during the late nite hours and the line is out the door as guys are trying to get in to drink and catch a dancer's eye. At this time, supply is not keeping up with demand.
