I Probably Should Visit a Second Time Before Making a Judgment on This Club
It’s been more than a year since I’ve been able to visit Atlanta, and as a 20-year veteran of a recently-closed mainstay, I was eager to see the three clubs vying to become the “new Follies.” Club Platinum (practically adjacent to where the recent shootings were) is closed right now, so when I got to town Wednesday afternoon I first visited Diamond Club, then headed to Vivide (see separate review).
I visited Diamond Club from 1:30-3:00. There was valet parking in the front, and free parking in the back. Parking spaces were plentiful, both when I arrived and when I left. I got patted down upon entry, but no ID check or mask requirement. Cover was $10, and bottled water was $5 plus tip. Bathroom was serviceable, but not very clean. No bathroom troll.
This is a mid-tier club at best, looking long past its prime. It’s relatively small, with one long and narrow stage (probably 4' x 16') with one pole. There was a second room in the back that I think had a pool table. I did not go back there, so I’m not sure. It’s entirely possible that that’s where the VIP rooms are.
