Pretty Good Time, But Stay Away from the Outrageously Priced Private Rooms
I stopped by Flashdancers Downtown [formerly New York Dolls; same owners] again for the first time since Covid recently. Things aren't quite up to par yet, but little by little, they are reopening. When you enter the club, you have to do coat check ($3), take a temperature check, and fill out the contact tracing sign-in sheet even if you have been vaccinated (though nobody really pays much attention, so it's not that big a deal). You also have to order food since they are open on a technicality. Not going to lie... the food leaves a lot to be desired. But whatever, there's no cover at present, so I just think of the terrible $20 hotdogs or cheese sticks as the cover charge.
As far as the club itself is concerned, it's one of the only clubs (maybe the only club to my knowledge) that is currently allowing lapdances at all on the floor in Manhattan during these mid-month [March 2021] Covid times. Some dancers require that you keep your mask on, others don't care. Most of the dancers are very attractive, primarily of eastern European or Latina descent. The mileage for a $20 dance is standard for Manhattan (i.e. not as high contact as you would like, but at least you still get some titties in the face). On the other hand, the private room prices are outrageous. It's $2000 for the champagne room. I think their cheapest option is $500 for a 15 minute semi-private area, so I always hard-pass on that since it's highway robbery.
The Flashdancers chain has always been a staple for me, but it's not the best or the worst. Sadly, right now, this and the Rick's chain are pretty much all there is, as to my knowledge, all the Bronx, Queens and Brooklyn clubs are still shut down, and very few in Manhattan are even partially re-opened. The trouble with Manhattan strip clubs has always been that the girls are too accustomed to Wall Street types, so many of them expect to be paid like high-class escorts if you want any extras. Extras definitely did (and I'm confident do) happen in the private rooms, but it REALLY isn't worth the price, and I highly recommend against it. I have, however, had some luck in the past with OTC extras and a more reasonable rate, so that's always worth a shot. Honestly, as far as the private rooms are concerned, there are other clubs that currently have no floor dances, but significantly better food and private room prices, so I would try your luck elsewhere for that.
