Potential, but will it ever be met?

I’ve always wondered what the story is with Gold Club. For those familiar with northern Broward / Fort Lauderdale, you know about the big three (Diamond Dolls, Booby Trap, Cheetah). Gold Club is right in the same area, but has a very different feel. First is the location. While the other three are along major streets, Gold Club is several blocks into an industrial area tucked in behind another business. Has a sketchy feel if you’re not familiar with the area. They do have plenty of free parking. 9:00pm, need a mask and $5 cover.

Entering the club I immediately thought the club is nice, but empty. There was one other couple, two dancers and a bartender. The building is a converted warehouse that they actually did a good job making into a club. As you enter, there is a good sized two pole stage with small tables each with 3 chairs well spaced out. Behind the stage there are some raised booths. The other direction is the main bar. Took a seat at the bar and briefly considered bolting, but decided to hang out for a bit. Got. $6 Bud. The dancers would do a two song set ( second topless ), but then several songs would go by before the other dancer got on stage (slender AA and average Latina). However, the wife/girlfriend of the other couple was having fun tipping and dancing when one of the dancers were on stage. A little entertainment bonus.

It wasn’t long before three other dancers appeared. All three Latin/American but spoke perfect English, so they been here for a while. Two of the girls stayed alongside the stage talking to a manager for a bit. The third came over and asked if she could sit with me. She explained she had only been here a few weeks but this was the other two girls first night. She hung out for a bit and gave me the scoop that there were $25 dance booths in the back, but I declined and said maybe later.
