The Harsh Reality of Fantasies

LOCATION

Club Fantasies is a few blocks away from Providence Place mall, located in an industrial strip just off the railroad tracks. I arrived after seeing Desire was closed, at about 4:45 pm on a Friday afternoon and there were a good number of cars. The building is covered in blue-green tiles with neon signage, a promising look.

LAYOUT

They made improvements since my last visit many years ago. Only the downstairs is open, you give your name and phone number for contact tracing, pass through a metal detector, and walk in. It’s pretty gaudy with bright lights and neon, but that works with the strip club vibe. The bar areas (one right in front as you walk in, the other far back on the right) are roped off, with only high-top seating available. In the back is what looks like the lap dance area where there used to be booths. I did not see anyone enter or exit. Despite the lot being only half full, the club felt crowded—they seem to take COVID protocols and distancing very seriously.
