Kit Kat is my favorite club in Portland. The club has a classic cabaret feel to it, with individual tables on the floor, a main stage and a side stage, DJ podium, large comfortable booths that can be rented out for parties or for some dedicated attention, and semi-private lap dance booths behind curtains towards the back. I prefer sitting at the rail by the stage for up-close viewing pleasure. You are greeted by a bouncer at the door who goes over the house rules (tip with every song, no touching the dancers but they can touch you, tip well and often) and collects the cover (and during COVID takes your temp and goes over the special safety rules - masks on at all times, masks can only be lowered to take a drink actively then they must be put back on). The best time to go is on a Friday or Saturday night, to catch the main floor show.

The dancers (the "Kitties") are all beautiful, friendly, and incredibly talented. The club's style is burlesque show oriented, and the dancers display incredible pole work and creative and alluring performances. Each of the dancers has their own style and persona, and every time I go I'm amazed by the talent, humor, and hard work they put into their craft. During pre-covid times, the lap dances were always enjoyable and memorable experiences, but if you tip well, you can have just as much fun at the rail. The bartenders are also beautiful and friendly and mix great drinks. I recommended offering to buy a dancer a drink and spending some time chatting with them, you'll have a great time and it keeps the party going. The bouncers are firm but fair and professional, and don't forget to tip them and the DJ and Emcee.

Be prepared to spend at least $100 for a fun, memorable evening. Cover is $10, minimum stage tipping is $1 per song (don't be that guy nursing a beer and tossing a single bill - and don't try to skip out on tipping, even if you're at a table or the bar, you will be asked to leave). Lap dances are $30 per song. Always add a tip on top of that - my rule is 50% tip for lap dances, $8-10 per song at the rail minimum. There is even the option to tip in bitcoin! The dancers all work hard and deserve every cent and then some. If you make their night memorable by being a generous and respectful patron, they'll make your night memorable in return.

I love Portland's club scene and can't wait to go back again when this pandemic is over, and I will always come back to Kit Kat. It really is my home club and is a Portland institution.
