Shimmer is dimmed
The Lodge has been a go-to spot for me when I’m in Dallas on business. With trace currently limited due to the pandemic, I’d not been back until recently. The place itself is as warm and inviting as ever but like most places, it has been impacted by the restrictions in place and the social limitations. The usual buzz has trimmed to being rather quiet.
What is still really hard to beat is the steak and lobster dinner offered for $10 on Thursday’s. Coupled with a beer for $5.50 it makes for a delightful meal. Service was good. Food was served promptly and was well prepared.
The staffing was light but I suppose it is to be expected midweek and mid afternoon. While they have always had more mature dancers - which is nice - the quality was not up to my usual expectations for The Lodge. Dances on stage seemed to be lethargic and sporadic. Overall the tempo was down....much like social life as a whole.
