One of a handful of places open during pandemic lockdown in LA

Went during pandemic season and new lockdown and curfew orders from Gavin Newsom to be home by 10PM. This and one other club Sahara have decided to stay open despite curfew and law enforcement has not acted yet. Was bored at home so I decided to visit in case the place got shut down.

Pulled up at around 10PM. Just enough parking spaces to be considered adequate parking. Cover was $25. They give you ticket voucher worth $5 to get some tacos from a street vendor. Up the stairs and into the showroom. Very dark which I don't like. Not a fan of the layout; two stages on opposite ends of the room where dancers make rounds from one to the other. Almost all seats are facing one stage so you have to turn your neck all the way around to see the other stage which is very annoying. Drinks are $6 and $12 if you buy a dancer one. Very pricy and the hustle to buy drinks is intense. Mask policy is strictly enforced by security which is great for health but bad when speaking to people as conversations get muffled.

40+ dancers where there; a packed house which is great for selection but would make people who fear the virus very uneasy. Many good lookers though pricing is what I consider expensive for the value received. $40 - 2/3 songs depending on specials announced, $120 - 15 mins, $180 - 30 mins. Creepy cameras are installed in all rooms which discourages and lecherous behavior. Most dancers are modest in what they do. Apparently there are a lot of transplants from other clubs since those clubs are now closed due to the pandemic. It makes Imperial the current and almost only choice for a rocking club experience during the pandemic. Let's see if this lasts or will be back to below average after the vaccine rolls out.
