Rick's is always a great spot
I showed up at around 2:00 after a huge night out. I had already blacked out earlier in the night, then sobered back up a bit, enough to know I needed to go home. However, I couldn't resist a quick pit stop at Rick's since I lived close by. I headed over to the location, walking by 5th Ave on my way up. Word to the wise: 33rd near 5th on the same side of the street at Rick's always has free entry passes lying around on the ground. Definitely grab one of those so you don't have to pay cover.
I plopped down in a chair somewhat near the back. I generally like this location as it gives you the full view of the stage, bar, TVs, and any ladies that might be walking my way. The waitress came around and asked what I wanted. I was still hammered, so I asked for water but she said it would be bottled. I figured if she was going to make me pay, I would get a Sprite. It was $8, pretty typical for soft drinks at clubs. I waited a while for any dancers to show, sipping my drink. An Asian-looking dancer approached and asked if I wanted a dance. I suggested she have a seat so we could talk for a bit. She shook her head and walked away.
I waited a bit longer. Still no one walked by so I finished my drink and went to the bar. I asked for a water and the bartender obliged. I struck up a conversation with some random guy at the bar. He randomly was a doctor who was married. His wife and kid were back home in the suburbs. Felt kinda bad for his wife, hopefully he had some kind of arrangement with her. He and I chatted for a bit longer and then he bought me a gin & tonic. I think it was $16. It woke me up a bit and got me ready to spend a bit of cash and close this place out.
