I was wrong

My previous visit to this club led me to wonder if it would be worth a second try. But that visit was on a Monday afternoon, and since there appear to be only two clubs in the area that might be worth visiting I gave Cheeks a second chance on a Saturday night. What a difference.

I rolled into the parking lot a little after 9PM after seeing the line of mongers waiting to get into the other South Dayton club. The parking lot was packed, and there was a security car rolling round and round with his blinky yellow light on top. Found a parking spot, pulled on my mask, and headed for the door. Inside, the door man/bouncer had me empty my pockets into a basket before walking through the metal detector. I was then asked to hand over my ID and five dollars to the door girl while the door guy explained the rules: wear your mask unless seated; if caught not wearing a mask when you should be, you get one warning; if it happens a second time you'll be asked to leave. OTOH I frequently forgot to pull the damn thing on when moving around the club and nobody said anything. I retrieved my ID (scanned, I'm sure) and change from the door girl and headed in. They probably also scanned my temperature, but I didn't notice it.

The place was busy inside, though one girl told me that pre-COVID it used to be much more crowded - like mosh pit crowded. The club is two very large rooms, one of which houses a huge stage and two bars. The other room has a third bar, the per song dance area, and a smaller stage. There's a block-of-time dance area back there somewhere too. Both rooms are ringed with televisions mounted near the ceiling, like the place is a sports bar or something. Personally, I don't need Captain Kirk fighting the Gorn in my line of sight while a mostly naked girl writhes on my lap (yes, that happened), but whatever.
