The Gold Club Restaurant
This is a post COVID and midst of the 2nd wave review. Doorman pointed a digital thermometer at my head and said 97. He also warned me that there was no stage show and purchase of food was required. Cover was $10. At the front desk they made me fill out a form to include my name (filled out Roger Rabbit in my favorite European language), email and about 10 yes/no questions. My only yes was to if I had traveled more than 100 miles away in the last 14 days.
I was then seated by myself at a table with 4 seats. The waitress told me that I needed to order food. I was paying cash, so they made me pay upon ordering, the QSR way. With tip, I paid $40 for a poke bowl, cocktail and Fiji. I looked around and one “dancer” was talking with a customer. Two others talked among themselves in the back wall booths. Then an attractive lady asked me if she could join me. I bought her a drink (which required the purchase of food), so including tip, food and drink it was $30 for her order. Fairly well-spoken Portuguese-girl with a nice chest, but couldn’t see much else below that since it was dark and she was sitting down. She claimed to have never danced before and had originally came to the club seeking to be a bartender. She told me that there were no lap dances, but the VIP room was functional similar to pre-COVID for the price of $525 for 30 minutes. Not much of a hard sell and we talked until I finished my meal and formally turned down the VIP room offer. Upon leaving the table it looked like she did not have the tightest stomach, so no big loss.
They may be opening up the stage or non-VIP room dances in November. I think I’ll stay away until that is the case.
