There is almost a Getaway from COVID here...

Back in Norfolk I decided to test the COVID strip club waters at Getaway. The exterior of the club is very non-descript; you could easily drive by if you weren’t looking carefully. Gravel parking lot, but did not feel particularly unsafe. Going inside you pass through a metal detector but no one checked me as it beeped. After paying a $5 cover I was told I had to wear a mask, but with almost no pushing the doorman said you could wear it around the chin. Most in the bar weren’t wearing one at all, and mine was off shortly thereafter. The bar was cordoned off with caution tape; you could place your order at it and the bartender or server would walk it around to hand your drink to you.

Looking for a place to sit I was almost immediately latched onto by a friendly but unattractive dancer. Most girls were heavyset, and I was mentally preparing to leave when I inquired if there was a floor show (no dancers were on stage) and the manager started it, with a cute spinner going onstage. You could still sit at the rail and throw dollars.

Bottled beer was $3.75, and mixed drinks $5. The waitress said alcohol sales had to stop at 10pm, but again, a little back and forth with the manager and I was permitted to attend the now “private” party where drink sales could continue.
