Portland in the time of COVID

I went to DV8 while down in Portland. Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon, out of a mix of curiosity over COVID-related stuff and simply being kind of bored. When I went in, the security guy stopped me to give the rundown on current policies - no sitting at the bar (stools were taped off), no sitting at the rail, no congregating around the pool table. Keep the mask on unless you're actually in the midst of eating/drinking (the staff was good about it too). Basically anywhere you'd get in close contact with other people, you don't get to. So instead, you sit at one of the tables surrounding the stage (maybe 8-10 feet away, at most) and watch the dancers put on a show.

The dancers. Man, I forgot how weirdly good the dancers at DV8 are. It's a Sunday afternoon, and yet, the dancers are all at least 7's, and I'd say 3 of the 5 that were on stage while I was there were 8's (maybe 8-10 dancers on shift total). Each dancer does 2 songs still, removing clothing as they go (but keeping masks on, which is a nice touch). The new thing though is that instead of spending time rubbing up against the guys tipping, as they normally did, they just perform at a distance. I still tossed a couple bucks up for every song, as is tradition, but it seemed a little more hit and miss around the room than normal. Random fun thing - the place has only be open again for a couple weeks, so the dancers kept coming in super excited to see each other, and basically camped out at a table together, naked, chatting throughout the day.
