Post-pandemic visit
I visited onyx Saturday after midnight. I arrived around 1:30am (free parking in the lot). They were taking everyone’s temperature (contactless) and you had to be wearing a mask prior to entry. I went through the metal detector / pat down and was inside after a $20 cover.
Once inside I went to the bar to order a dusse ($10). Hand sanitizer was available at the bar. I didn’t notice any changes to the layout of the club since my last visit. They still have very limited seating available (most of the seating is reserved for bottle service). After getting my drink I was able to get one of the few open seats directly in front of one of the stages. This was a good spot initially because I got to get an up close & personal view of the stage shows. Another benefit of sitting at the stage is the girls will come over and give you a little lap dance right there at the side of the stage. I was able to enjoy a few of these in my first hour. If you are sitting at the stage your are expected to be tipping at all times (the DJ will call you out if you aren’t). The quality of the girls on this night was a 7 or 8 and most were familiar faces from previous visits. I did notice that the mask required upon entry wasn’t actually being enforced inside the club. None of the dancers were wearing masks and very few patrons were for what it’s worth.
After about an hour I had to go to the bathroom to take a piss so I ended up loosing my stage side seat and there weren’t any other seats available as it was starting to get more crowded. At a certain point it became more crowded than I had ever seen in any of my previous visits. It was literally standing room only. There wasn’t any opportunity to see or enjoy the dancers so I decided to call it a night. As I was leaving I noticed a long line outside of the club with even more people trying to get in. Way too crowded for my liking.
