Post Covid Clubbing
After Desires failed restaurant experience; Dolls tried the same thing. A dancer buddy texted me (yup, first test ever) that no reservations were required and that she was working Friday. After a week of shoveling 7,000 pounds of loam into a wheelbarrow and moving it around, I decided that walking and carrying my clubs on a hilly course in 88 degree heat was a good idea. After a few drinks with wife and smoking some weed, I decided on clubbing and after I picked up dinner for wife, off I went.
Arrived 8:45. Bouncer was someone I knew and welcomed me. No cover, no mask. Inside: half the tables gone; half the bar stools gone, stage blocked off; no masks. I grabbed at table and the pretty waitress came over and informed me that a food requirement was in place as it was now a restaurant.
A few dancers came over; new to me and asked if I wanted company/dances. This being the first time I ever planned on meeting someone I declined, despite my natural inclination to try new talent.
The lineup: A few of the regulars, looking great. A few new dancers looking good. No covid 15 in evidence. Very few customers. With only 11 tables/bar seats there were less people than normal, but not a bad thing if you were one of the few there.
My "date" showed up, looking great. Ordered drinks and food and spent time together, which was weird in that we've never eaten together once. Other than that it was the same. Manager sprung for a round; tips were accepted gratefully and yes, as I have been doing in restaurants, they all got more. Its time to spread the wealth.
