All is calm on COVID reopening
This was reopening day at Downtown Cabaret and so I thought it would be interesting to check out the afternoon happy hour scene. They run a great happy hour with $5 drinks of any pour and cover is free before 6 p.m.. I also like that it's a more chill atmosphere and not the zany party atmosphere that cranks up at night. (not that there's anything wrong with that...I just like it more laid back.)
I went in with low expectations based on what I've read about other club openings around the country pos lockdown. And those low expectations weren't even met. It was just an overall strange experience.
When I entered I had to register my name on roster of people attending that day (there were about 12 names already on the list). Just my name and time that I entered; no phone or address. No scanning of driver's license. If this is for contact tracing, I don't know how they'll ever find me. The attendant also asked if I had a mask, which I did. He didn't give any requirements on when to wear it, so I asked and he said something to the effect to just use my best judgment.
