I went to Sadie’s Gentlemen’s Club on the first night bars were allowed to reopen in Oklahoma: Friday, May 15th. I arrived about 20:00. The outside of the building looks like it was made for the set of a Western movie. The parking lot is gravel, and it had several deep puddles. There was a $5 cover charge at the door. Sincweisers were an affordable $3. There is a cheap-looking wooden bar to the left as you enter. Two pool tables are straight ahead from the door. To the right is the majority of the room filled with tables and chairs around a T-shaped stage coming off the right wall. The runway stage has three poles: one pole on each arm of the T. There is a small secondary stage on the back wall with a single pole, but it was never used. There is no food served at Sadie’s. However, there is a vending machine with snacks near the door, a restaurant shares the gravel parking lot, and a Conoco mini mart is right across the highway. The ATM has a $4 fee. Smoking is permitted inside, and most of the patrons and dancers seemed to be smokers. The secondhand smoke is bad if you have sensitive lungs.

Private dances take place in a closet on the back wall of the club. It has a curtain over the doorway to block view from the crowd. I was told every dancer determines her own price for lap dances. Some dancers quoted $25, while others quoted higher like $30. I asked a dancer about contact. She said she allowed touching, but did not elaborate further. Since every Oklahoma club I’ve been to prior has been officially one-way contact, I am not sure I believed she’d actually allow much groping. Whatever the case, I decided against taking one for the team in the private dance closet with there still being a few active cases of coronavirus in Osage County. I did not see a single patron get lap dances the entire time I was inside Sadie's. I think this was due more to the high prices and low contact than it was due to the locals fearing the spread of a virus during a private dance.

There were only two dancers when I first arrived, but by 21:30, many more had showed up to work. Dancers would go on stage one at a time for three songs. They would strip down to topless but had pasties over their areolas. Stage contact was mostly boobs to the face. Dancers seemed to make all of their income during their stage sets. Some of the dancers that I list below as white are actually a mix of Caucasian and Native American genes. The eastern half of Oklahoma was once Indian Territory and the Native Americans and whites in Oklahoma interbred over time. The dancers I list below as mixed are a swirl of African-American genes with either Native American or Caucasian genes.
