February trip to Chavelas Pt 1

Since there are no current reviews being submitted I thought that I would provide a past due review from a previous visit. This is a review of my February visit to ZN.

All of my visits are Sunday through Thursday. I stay in San Diego for work and family during the day and keep a room in Hotel Cascadas for my nightly visits. I always park at the lot next to the freeway exit closest to Ped West entrance. I enter Ped West during the 9 o’clock hour and rarely have any issues. This trip the Mexican official required me to complete a visa application and she stamped my passport. Upon clearing the border checkpoint I met with the limo driver and walked with him over to the HK garage and took a town car to Hotel Cascadas.

The hotel did not have a record of my reservation and told me that my reserved master suite was not available for all four days. They would have it for me on Sunday and Wednesday but not Monday and Tuesday. I argued my point to the clerk showing him a copy of my reservation confirmation but he stated it was not enough. I insisted on speaking to management. The manager listened to my position and reviewed my confirmation. He admitted that his staff screwed up and that I could book the room for tonight but would have to vacate in the morning and check in again with him the following evening. In the end he was able to provide my Master suite room to me for the full four days. This is also when they changed the discount policy from 80% off on Monday and Tuesday to 70%.
