sinclair's Review
I made several visits to Cabaret Lady Mary Ann over the last couple weeks. There is a bar on the right wall and a stage on the left wall. The stage has two twenty foot tall poles and a couch where dancers usually toss their outfits when on stage. Bottles of beer are $6.50 during the afternoon and are $8.50 at night. All beers served are Molson Coors products. Strip clubs and bars in Quebec get a discount if they only sell beer from a single distributor. Video slot machines are located in a corner.
I dropped in on a Thursday afternoon at 15:40. The club was completely dead; the only person inside was the bartender. The bouncer said that there were two dancers working. I tipped him a loonie to sit at the bar. The Georges St-Pierre wannabe said I had to tip him at least $3. This was bullshit because I have never heard of a minimum tip as long as you give one to the guy who seats you. The bouncers are generally happy with what they can get for the simple task. Once inside, I saw a pretty good looking white dancer leave in her street clothes after about five minutes. The only dancer left was a pushy black dancer from Montreal, so I sucked down my Coors Light and left. Visiting in the afternoon was a waste of time.
I stopped by on a Saturday night at 01:45. The club was packed to capacity. There was a $2.50 cover paid to the girl that works the coat-check. She gave me a paper ticket, which I then gave to a bouncer for a seating assignment. I tipped him a toonie, and he was content. There were around sixteen dancers working. Dancers would do a stage rotation where one dancer would strip to topless during two songs, then a second dancer would come on stage and strip to topless during two songs. The first dancer would return to strip down to nude, and then the second dancer would return to strip down to nude. Then the next two dancers would be called up to repeat the cycle.
