The Sunday Blues

Yesterday, what was supposed to be a couple martinis before heading out to the clubs became me finishing off an entire 1 Liter bottle of Hendrick's and passing out on my couch. Woke up this morning like a fucking train wreck. After a long steaming hot shower I headed over to the Firehouse Pub in Rahway for some emergency medical treatment. Beef and barley soup, NY strip steak, mashed potatoes, and four bloody marys. Alive again, but barely, I took the 5 minute drive to Breathless, with the hope there would be a halfway decent massage girl to help aid in my recovery. There wasn't.

Never been there on a Sunday afternoon before but it was dead. I counted 5 patrons at the bar and probably 12 girls. If you don't know this place, it's one of the larger clubs in NJ. Two long stages, each with a full wraparound bar and easily seats 100 or more patrons comfortably. Today there was one girl on stage and the others were either sitting with guys or by themselves on their phones. The girls were just average. Range 6-7 out of 10. No ugly ones, no overly pretty ones. No fatties, no slims. Maybe it was my zombie-like state of mind, but I didn't see one girl who looked bad, nor did I see one who stood out as particularly hot. All I really wanted was a barside massage to ease my aching shoulders and headache, but nothing doing. One pretty nice girl came and sat with me. Bought her a drink and chatted some mindless banter for 10 minutes. All she wanted was to go for a private dance. She looked good but I was in no condition.

Two gin and tonics and I was out. Not sure about prices because as a rule they bring you all singles for change and I wasn't in the mood to count them. Bottom line, I didn't see much happening there early on a Sunday. Maybe it picks up later, I don't know. The best times I've had in this place have been afternoons around 3:00 or 4:00 on a weekday. The dollar parade is relentless at that time, but the place is busy, usually about 8 moderately to smokin' hot girls at a time on stage, and there's always a free buffet which isn't half bad.
