Disappointed

My first visit to Austin since Expose had turned into Red Rose...

Expose had been my "go-to" Austin club, but the last few visits had been less than satisfying, but the recent Red Rose reviews had gotten my hopes up for a good re-incarnation.

As others have mentioned, the bar area is still the same. The round stage is now kind of an 8-shaped stage. The very small stage is now gone. There was something to the left of the DJ booth, but I never got a good look at it. It might have been a small bar as that was the general area where my waitress got my drinks from.

Speaking of drinks.... Beer selection is still abysmal. No draft beer and limited bottle selection. Happy hour "craft" beer was $6.50 and non-happy hour was $7.50. For the caliber of the club and the location, I would call that expensive.

The entertainers were disappointing to say the least. The previous reviews sounded a lot better than what I witnessed. There was one girl I wanted to get dances with (but of course she never came to my table even though she said she would). I did take a chance on a girl who hadn't been on stage yet. She gave a good dance ($20, but she said others may charge more), but her boobs weren't as nice as I was expecting.
