Opening Night At The Body Shop
This is a review of my experience on opening night. I had been at Showcase earlier in the evening of Jan. 31 and was told by a couple of the dancers there that The Body Shop was opening that night. I arrived between 1:30 and 2:00 a.m. A parking spot opened up in front of the building to the left of the club. It was very dark over there. That was a negative. I walked up to the main entrance and initially couldn’t figure out where the door was. A bunch of people were hanging outside smoking and one pointed me toward the door. The cover was $25. Which I thought was high given how late it was. I believe the weeknight cover is $20. When you pay your admission you get a card which entitles you to $5 off the cover when you present it in the future.
The main area is very bright. There is a low stage in front. When I arrived 2 dancers were sharing the stage. There is no perverts row. All the seating is either at small round tables or at high back benches along the perimeter walls. The tables were all taken so I sat at one of the benches. The first two dancers finished up and two more came on. None of them moved the needle much. People would approach the stage and throw/drop their singles on the stage. I didn’t witness any actual contact between the dancers and the patrons (although I could have just missed that). I didn’t go to the bar, so I don’t know anything about selections, pricing, etc. I’m thinking any of the dancers had left by the time I got there. I counted about 12 dancers total. After about 10 minutes, a petite, fairly light-skinned lady with long dark hair approached me and asked if I wanted a dance. I asked what the price structure was (which Papi always counsels against doing). It’s $20 per song top on, $30 topless. These dances are done in a large, communal lapdance area, sort of like the way Showcase is set up. The difference is The Body Shop has comfy seating in the lapdance area unlike the awful chairs at Showcase. There are cameras in the LD area. The LD area is located behind the bar. The VIP area is located down a hallway closer to the main entrance of the club. There appeared to be at least 6 maybe 8 VIP booths down this hall. Each booth had a curtain covering the entrance. VIP is $20 to get in plus $50 per song. That was out of my price range.
I opted for two songs topless. We were the only people there. My dancer had great, natural, not too big boobs with puffy nipples which is a plus in my book. And no tats either IIRC. At the end of the second song I learned my dancer’s name is Spanish for one of the stars in the sky. Because she had a Spanish name I asked if she were Latina. I honestly couldn’t tell because she didn’t have an accent and she was almost as pale as I am. She said she was mixed. I feel like I got my money’s worth on the dances. She seemed to be into it, which doesn’t always happen. I tipped her a few dollars and wished her a good evening.
