A guide to Follies

Driving into Follies parking lot the first thing that you will notice is a guy collecting money and parking cars. He is called the "Valet". He usually gets set up an hour after the club opens but earlier on Sundays. Many of you don't trust him and don't want to give up your keys. Some try parking across the street in the Fiesta Plaza. In doing so you risk getting your car booted especially after 9PM. Some like to park next door at Pep Boys but you risk getting towed. I have heard of others parking further down the street and making the long walk. There is a bus stop right in front of Follies. Why not park a mile away and take the bus? I am usually there before he gets set up but recently, on a Sunday, he was set up but I went ahead and parked myself. He caught up with me and just asked for the $10 parking fee. I've heard that he pretty much allows you to keep your keys as long as you pay him.

Next you enter the foyer where you will be greeted by the "Door Girls". They are there to collect the entrance fee of $5 on Sat & Sun only, to check your I.D. (no scan) and pat you down. You do go through a metal detector prior to the pat down. Gone are the days of getting felt up. You might by a Chamblee cop. There is also a dress code that the girls are supposed to check for. No white t-shirts, baggy pants, gold chains, etc. Basically if you look like one of the boyz from the hood, you are not getting in. A couple of months ago I did see them sell a black t-shirt to a guy that arrived wearing a white one. I don't know that cost. There is a tip jar on the counter and you are expected to tip for "no service".

Then you pass through the next set of doors into the club. It is kept very dark inside. So be careful until you eyes adjust. Cell phones are permitted so I guess you could use your flash light. Once you adjust you will see more clearly. The bar is straight ahead. You will be able to find it by looking for a square shaped object with two females inside. They are called "Bar Tenders".
