Not bad, but short a couple of key dancers

Full on Akron crawl started at Bottoms Up about 1 p.m. Saturday. I’ve been hitting this place more often lately, mainly because I’ve been going on Saturdays and Saturdays have been pretty good.

Bar description: No alcohol because the girls can bare it all here. So you get buzzed in the locked front door, but that’s the only buzz you’ll get. Inside, you’ll find a bar that runs the length of the right side of the room and a multi-level stage with a couple of poles that runs down the left side. Cover and the first 2 drinks cost you $10. The barmaid will give you a ticket for drink No. 2 for later use. Sitting at the bar, you’re maybe 8 feet from the stage. And the stage does get some use, which is unusual in Akron. Most dancer bars are not about stage dances. Every 45 minutes or so on a normal day, one of the ladies gets up there and makes looking worthwhile.

The bar isn’t large or fancy. Concrete floor. Something like 10 barstools. The VIP area is up a wooden staircase in a loft. That’s another $10 ticket for 3 songs, plus tips. The minimum tip expected seems to be $10 a song. Up there, two long couches sectioned off into 6 (I think) booths that are walled off on three sides for pretty decent privacy. Of course, there are cameras focused on everything that goes on in those booths, monitored well enough by the barmaid downstairs that if someone gets too frisky, she’ll come up to restore order. So when you look at it that way, there’s no privacy at all. It’s a nice illusion when you’re up there, though. Nobody can stare at you and your dancer from 5 feet away. It’s pretty dark upstairs, and some of the booths are lit worse than others. Worth keeping in mind if you’re there to see as well as enjoy the grind. So that’s the layout. Downstairs is pretty bright for a titty and kitty bar, which is great! Unless you run into someone you didn’t want to know you’re there. Then it’s awkward! Overall, it’s clean. Even the men’s room is in pretty good shape. Also unusual for Akron.

As mentioned, Saturdays have been pretty good lately. A few weeks before this Saturday’s trip, in addition to the mid-30s Bottoms Up veterans Raven, Vicki and Mandy(?), was a lady who was new to me, Nicole. I’d rate her a 6-7 with nice moves and great soft and smooth skin. Took her upstairs for a good, not great, show. Will probably repeat if the mood hits me right. Also there that day was Bam, a very cute, relatively young black spinner. She’s smart and fun to talk to. That upstairs show was really fun. It was one of the reasons I went back this week. Another was Ivy, a lady who said she’s worked off and on there for something like 9 years. Blonde, a little chubby, but in a cute way. Good floor dance, good upstairs.
