Lipstick on the Pigs Inn
I probably have not been to the Kings Inn in at least eight years, but on a recent trip to New Beige I was surprised to see how much exterior work had been done to the building. Unfortunately, like a lot of the dancers, the closer you look the less impressed you are. I am reasonably certain the gum on the parking lot was the same from the last time I was there, and upon opening the door you discover that the interior renovations are far more limited. Passing through a metal detector you get your ID scrutinized (ha!) and pay a $7 cover. Imported beers were also $7, and there was no waitress bringing them around either. Clearly some of the extraneous corral paneling was gone, but the stage is still on the ground level and surrounded by a high rail, making any of the dancers doing a routine on the floor impossible to see unless you're sitting at the rail itself.
Most of the dancers were uninspiring, and vaguely moreno. There was one or two spinners that caught my eye though, both of which offered high mileage in the lap dance room ($25/song) and the other promising a full menu in the still-skeezy champagne area for $260. The Pigs Inn is still a sty, but at least it doesn't smell as bad. You're far more miss than hit than anywhere in Providence, but if you're South Coast adjacent you can save yourself a little drive.
