January Doldrums

When going to TJ, choose wisely because crossing the border can be a hassle at the wrong time. When going to HKTJ, choose wisely because selection may be limited....

I should have heeded my own advice. Against my better judgement, I went to HK last week Thursday (Jan 2). I knew that there would be the post-NY doldrums and selection during the day would be limited but I was horny for a quickie and it is rare for me to get extended time to cross the border. So off I went.

Crossing the border was easy, but as I was walking the long pedway to TJ I noticed that the line getting back home was already getting long. Maybe 125 people in line already and this was at 11 am. I should have figured that a lot of people would be coming back from the holidays.
