Not the Gem it Used to Be

I used to go to this club several years ago, then it closed down suddenly due to some sort of lawsuit. The club re-opened about two years ago and through word-of-mouth, it wasn't thriving like it did before it closed. 4-6 months ago, the management from a competitor club took over managing Vixens. Word was that they were adding dancers, shifting the music from Hip Hop to a mix of rock, country and dance music. As a result of the recent changes rumors were that it was on its way to returning to its previous glory. So, about a month ago, I made the plunge and went in. Been there some 6-8 times since. The dancers are hit or miss, some are really outgoing and friendly, some sit to themselves and only get up on stage once or twice an hour. The bartenders are the same, some are there to serve the customer while others are caught up in the typical strip club drama and rumors and leave people without a drink for several minutes.

Drink pricing is average for the general area with beer $4-6 and mixed drinks/shots from $7-13 depending on brand, rail or top shelf. The back of the bar shows some 30 beer choices which is a misnomer because there are really only 10-12 of the usual selections. So, a bit of false hope if you are a beer aficionado.

I met the new management, they have indicated that it is an ongoing transformation process and listened intently to my thoughts both good and bad. The biggest shortcoming in the establishment is the TV systems which are old outdated devices that one can hardly see from across the bar. Also, they are not placed in an ideal location for the viewer. I know we all go to clubs for the live view, but during shift change, or Monday night football, it sure would be nice to see the score and be kept up to date for fantasy league.
