Harassed by security
TL;DR? Sketchy club. Only plays rap music. Overzealous security. Not worth the cover or being stalked by security.
You enter through the back door. The security is several black men and one token skinny white boy hanging outside. They wand and pat down. Knowing a shooting and arson happened at this cub this extra measure already seemed like a red flag. Inside we paid cover, I believe it was $15? The club is very dark and for good reason—not a pretty face in the building. Most of the night we were harassed by an !!obese!! black haired white girl with the craziest RuPaul makeup I’ve ever seen and a cross eyed Chinese woman about 55 years old who followed her around like a lost dog. They wanted alcohol (did not ask for a dance). I obliged so they would leave me alone. Here’s the catch - the dancers are not allowed to drink. She wanted me to order a drink for myself, then pour it in her glass under the bar ledge. She said there are overhead cameras and the owner watches their every move. Man all I wanted to do was get these uglies away from me and hopefully grab the attention of a better dancer. Eventually the fat one was called on stage. The Asian woman left to sit and watch her. Totally weird. There are two stages, one in the corner so small I witnessed three dancers trip off of it during my visits, and another behind the stage. There is a third in the corner but the bartender said it is never used. Finally got the attention of a young Hispanic girl. I asked for a lap dance ($30). She said yes, and we made our way to the back. She did not make much conversation—I know some people don’t like that, but I spend more on girls willing to chat. She began to dance at the start of the song. I put my hand on her hip and....here comes plain clothed security. Without warning the dance was over and I lost my money. I spent the rest of the short night feeling uncomfortable.
