Fun Friday Afternoon

I generally only get to clubs in the afternoon and Emperor’s is usually a place I try to get to even though I’ve ended up there more than a few times when it has been dead. There is no cover in the afternoon. There’s one stage in the middle of the room. There is one bar at the head of the stage and table with cushy chairs in the rest of the room. You can smoke. I smoke, but only when I go to clubs and find that the smell doesn’t stick to you as much here as it does at some other Jax spots. There’s a bathroom guy and there are big tuned to sports channels. Watching football highlights is better than thinking about politics.

I went on Friday afternoon about 2:45. They’ve got happy hour on domestic beer and the bartender gave me the special even though I was early. Thought that was nice. Place was actually pretty crowded and there were 2 dancers on the stage at all times. Each dancer did one song at the back and then one at the front of the stage. Tops and bottoms stayed on. All of the girls were at least cute, no absolute fuglies, ranging from 5 to a couple of nines, most of the dancers were white, maybe one or two AAs or Latinas. I wasn’t aggressively approached by anyone but was thanked with cheek kisses after tipping at the rail.

They did a showtime where all the dancers got on stage and offered 2 for 1 dances afterwards for a song or two. I didn’t partake but, looking back, I wish I had. In the past here, dances have been $30 per song and they’ve been good full contact topless dances in the back. No one has ever proposed extras to me here and I’ve never asked for them. They don’t seem to cut song length.
