Good, low-key alternative to Rick’s

Hoops is the lower-key sister club of Rick’s cabaret which is right next door. They market this place as a combination sports bar and strip club. When you first come in past the curtains there is a small pole area and a wall of TVs showing all of the sports games. There are approximately 10 bar seats and 4 two-top tables in this area. As you walk back there is the main stage with seating as well as couches further back.

In general, the girls here are not as hot and in fewer numbers than at Rick’s, but in my experience are more lenient with the no touching rule. Lap dances are $20 per song and the dancers usually ask you if you want to keep going when the song changes. In terms of demographics, I would say 1/3 white, 1/3 Spanish, and 1/3 black and Asian.

They have a decent happy hour with $6 beers, but there aren’t many girls here until after 8 when it ends. Also, look out for flyers being handed out or on the ground on nearby street corners to bypass the cover charge.
