A Rare Disappointment

I arrived around 3:00PM. As usual there was plenty of parking behind the building, visually shielded from the very busy Rt 9. When I entered I paid the $15 cover and bought the mandatory $5 water. That out of the way I took a seat one row back from the horseshoe shaped stage, and hoped for a little commercial romance. There was an attractive young lady dancing, and another sitting at the far end of he bar, engrossed in her smart-phone.

At the end of her set the dancer returned to the back room without a tip parade. A good looking spinner took the stage. She was tipped by a patron sitting near the stage entrance, who then made it rain cash for her. She never moved for the remainder of her set. At the end of the set they retired to the private dance area, and another dancer took the stage.

During all this time no dancers were circulating nor did the one with the smart phone ever even move. Perhaps there was a card game in the ladies’ locker room. This club is usually a sure thing in the afternoon. Today, I could not even get a “Hello.”
