Striking Gold
Made another trip to the Gold Club on a weekday night around 9pm. As usual, there was hardly anyone there. The club itself is on the higher end of the scale, but smoking is allowed, so if that bothers you you've been warned. The clientele is mixed, but I'd say mostly white collar. Music is your typical pop/hip hop, nothing over the top. There's a $10 cover and beers are $6-$7. One of the chief complaints about this club is the disjointed service. They have a habit of having no one on stage for 5-10 minutes at a time and the waitress goes MIA at various points too.
There's typically several black dancers, but I've not seen any Asians and rarely any Hispanics. Of course, they usually have at least a few blondes. I've found most of the dancers to have pleasant dispositions and good conversation skills. Not a big hustle factor either, but some will complain about the lack of tipping for the stage. Generally, the girls are on the lower end of the attractiveness scale. However, there always seems to be one or two gems worth waiting for.
You don't get much value from the stage shows as some girls don't even bother stripping at all. Dances are $25-$30 in the open area with full contact. The VIP rooms, which have curtains, are $150 for 15 minutes. YMMV, but with the right girl, this is better value than the open couch dances. There's heavier and more intimate contact, but there's some visibility through the curtains. Not all girls advertise the VIP, but I don't know if that's because some won't offer it or it just didn't come up.
