Soapy in Hong Kong
Visited Hong Kong with a couple of work buddies after a meeting in San Diego. It was a bit sketchy walking across the border, the Mexico side was super crowded and we nearly got run over hopping into our Uber. Anyway, we get to the club and my buddy (who is Mexican) talks our way in without paying a cover. Unfortunately, I have no idea what he said. I have the best Spanish 4 years in American high school will buy, aka I max out at Como esta.
Anyway, inside the place looks like a typical strip club, dark, too loud music, and a lot of scantily clad women. We were immediately approached by two of the hosts (don't know the name for the dudes who find you a table, bring you beer, and bring you girls). One started talking to the front man of our trio, one started talking to the rear guard. Then there was a bidding war with these guys offering us cheaper and cheaper lap dance tickets. We ended up paying something like $40 for 4 lap dance tickets and 4 beers. The host who won took us to a table where we waited for our drinks.
The place wasn't too crowded, lots of open booths, plenty of seats at the stages, and nearly every bar stool open. We finally got our drinks and tickets, then our host disappears. I thought he was going to ask us what kind of girls we were interested and bring us some, but the guy just vanishes off the face of the Earth. We decide to mosey on down to the pole, armed with a fist full of singles.
